In India, a hiccup means someone is remembering you

A tiny hello, no reply needed.

Hiccup is for the people you miss: a partner far away, a parent, a friend in another city. One small thing sent, one small thing received.

1
Pair
Share a short invite code with someone you miss. Both of you say yes. You can keep up to five people.
2
Send a hiccup
Choose a mood and a Bu Bu look, add an emoji or a few words if you like, and tap Send.
3
Let it sit
It waits quietly on their widget. They see it when they see it. Nobody has to answer.

Meet Bu Bu

Say it with a little face.

Bu Bu comes as bunnies, clouds, kittens, pandas and more. Each one can show more than a hundred feelings, from love and chai to hunger, a hello and a tired day, and reacts when you touch it. Give every person you love their own look, so you know who it is at a glance.

One tap to send: a feeling, an emoji, a few words.
Secret hiccups wait behind a tap, even on the widget.
A soft Bu Bu voice plays when one arrives while the app is open. You can mute it any time.

Hiccup widgets on an Android home screen

Receiving happens on the home screen

A widget for each person.

Add a widget in your person's colour, in sizes from small to large. A hiccup lands there without you opening anything.

Hide it behind a clock face: tap the clock to reveal it for a short moment, then it hides again.
A small light on the clock says a new hiccup is there: green for a normal one, blue for a secret.
The notification shows who it is from, with their little picture, and can appear on your lock screen.
Quiet hours, pause receiving and private notifications are in Settings.

Gentle, never naggy

Keep in touch, watch it grow.

Every day you both send something, a shared garden and a banyan tree grow a little. A missed day is forgiven once a week, and nothing nags you.

Your shared banyan tree

A shared garden that changes every fifteen days

Your shared garden

The tree grows a little for every day you stay in touch and shrinks only slowly on quiet days. The garden never wilts.
A warm-days flame, little milestones and earned looks for your own Bu Bu.
Your XP and levels live with your account, so they come with you if you change phones.
If you have been away for a day, an optional, soft “Missing them?” nudge may find you. You can switch it off in Settings.
Hidden creatures live in the tree if you zoom in and look closely.

Take the tour.

Someone is thinking of you. A quiet way to say it.

Fine print, up front

Made to feel safe and soft.

Not a chat

No long threads, no typing indicators, no pressure to answer. One small thing at a time.

You choose your people

Pairing needs a code and a yes from both of you. You can block or unpair whenever you like.

Words stay short

Hiccups carry a feeling, an emoji and a few words. Emails, web links and phone numbers are blocked.

Honest about timing

A hiccup arrives at once when you both have Hiccup open, and within moments when it is closed, because a small push message wakes your phone. Power-saving settings on some phones can slow that down.

Free, supported by ads

Free to download. Ads are shown through Google AdMob and stay out of the way of sending and receiving.

You hold the switch

Usage statistics can be turned off in Settings. You can delete your account and data from the app, or read how on the delete account page.

Android 12 or newer. Hiccup needs an internet connection to deliver hiccups and a Google account or an email link to sign in. What is collected and why is in the Privacy Policy and the Data Safety page.

Tell them you miss them.

Free on Google Play for Android 12 and above. Two minutes to set up, and the next hiccup is on its way.
