Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Field Camera Android app ("the App"), provided by Trishunya Infotech ("we", "us"), handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. Field Camera is a camera and field-data app that stamps photos and videos with location, time and optional sensor data, stores that data inside the files, and exports it in standard formats.

In short: Field Camera needs no account, keeps your photos, videos and field data on your device, and contacts the network only for ads, anonymous usage statistics and the optional map, weather and address features you switch on.

1. Accounts & identity

The App works without an account: no email, no password, no sign-up.

2. Information you create

Photos and videos you capture, the location, time and sensor readings (compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer, light and, if you use a microphone widget, sound level) recorded with them, form answers and notes you type, codes you scan, and optional voice notes. These are stored on your device in the folders you choose and embedded in the files (EXIF, XMP and a telemetry record) so other tools can read them. Files leave your device only when you export or share them yourself.

3. Location

The App requests precise and approximate location to stamp coordinates, and to calculate chainage and boundary checks when you load a KML or KMZ. Location is used only while you are using the App (including while a video or track log you started is recording, during which a notification stays visible). Switching a feature off, or denying the permission, leaves the rest of the App working.

4. Third-party services

ServicePurposeData involved
OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org)Street map pictures on a photo, when the network features are onMap tile requests for the area shown and your IP address
Esri World Imagery (arcgisonline.com)Satellite map pictures, when the network features are onMap tile requests for the area shown and your IP address

Google User Messaging PlatformAsks for your consent to ads where the law requires it (EEA, UK, Switzerland and some other regions)Your consent choice
Google Analytics for FirebaseAnonymous usage statisticsApp-usage events, device model and OS version, Advertising ID. Never your photos, videos, places or anything you type.
Google ML Kit barcode scanningReading QR codes and barcodesRuns on your device; the picture and the code stay on the phone

The network features (maps, weather, address lookup) are switched off until you turn them on in Settings > Network features.

5. Usage statistics, ads and your choices

Google Analytics for Firebase is switched off until the App decides it may run. In the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland (and whenever the App cannot tell where you are) nothing is collected until you tap Allow in the first-run question; Don't allow is equally easy and the App works the same either way. You can change your answer later in Settings > About. Elsewhere, anonymous measurement is on.

Where the law requires it, Google's consent form for ads appears first, and can be reopened from Settings > About ("Ad privacy choices"). You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your Android settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads).

6. Permissions the App requests, and why

PermissionPurpose
CameraTaking photos and videos. This is the only permission requested on first launch.

MicrophoneSound in videos, optional voice notes and microphone widgets. Requested only when you use them.

NotificationsThe visible notice while a video or track log is running.
Internet and network stateAds, anonymous usage statistics and the optional network features.
Advertising IDUsed by Google AdMob and Google Analytics for ads and measurement, only where allowed. You can reset or delete it in Android settings.
Foreground service (camera, microphone, location)Keeps a video recording or track log you started running reliably, with a visible notification.
Vibration, high-rate sensorsShutter feedback and sensor readings for the stamp.

The App does not request access to your contacts, SMS or call log.

7. Data retention and deletion

Data stored on your device can be deleted at any time from within the App, or removed entirely by uninstalling it. Files you have exported or shared with other apps are outside the App's control once they leave it. Anonymous usage statistics are kept by Google under its standard retention settings; you can stop further collection in Settings > About where that switch is offered, or reset your Advertising ID in Android settings.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

9. Security

We keep your data on your device and use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for data sent over a network. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including whenever features or third-party services are added. Changes are shown by updating the "Last updated" date above.
